Avène Thermal Spring Water is a mist that provides soothing and anti-irritating benefits for sensitive, hypersensitive and allergic skin. Extracted directly at the source and packaged in a sterile environment, the formula is low in mineral content and does not dry out the skin. It works to comfort a range of everyday skin irritations including sunburn, razor burn, facial redness, itching, post-depilatory irritation, eczema and nappy rash. Avène Thermal Spring Water is pH-neutral, hypoallergenic and preservative-free. Tested by dermatologists.

Initially I bought this because I purchased the Avene cleansing milk when Priceline pharmacy had a half-price sale and it worked well on my sensitive skin so I went back to buy several Avene products: Avene Soothing Repair Mask, Avene Gentle Purifying Scrub, Avene Soothing moisture mask and Avène Thermal Spring Water. Avene Thermal Spring Water mist is Avene’s star performer and I’ve heard many praises about this product so I had high expectations.

I was very excited to trial this miracle water which I hope would cure my irritated red skin so when I got home with the mist I immediately open the plastic cover, popped open the lid and spray it all over my face without cleansing my face first-which shouldn’t be a problem because it claims that you can spray anytime when needed, even over your make up. After spraying all over my face, as per instructions I massage/pat my face so the mist can get absorbed into my skin. The texture felt just like normal cold water. After it absorbed into my skin, it looked slightly more plumped but the redness on my skin was still there. My skin didn’t feel any major difference after using it and it didn’t soothe my irritated skin like it claims it would.

Packaging

Shiny white metal spray can with sturdy plastic lid similar to a hair spray can.

Price

$22.99 for a 300ml can.

The Avène Thermal Spring Water is essentially water in a can, so at that price point it is expensive. However, if you can score one when there’s a half price sale then it definitively sweetens the deal.

Beauty Tip

Spray a large amount of the spring water onto a cotton pad until it’s dump and place it onto your face like a sheet mask. This soothes the skin much better than just spraying the mist onto the face.

Overall Rating 2.5 Stars

Avène Thermal Spring Water did not live up to the expected results therefore I probably wouldn’t purchase this product again.
