My Verdict

I’ve read many shining reviews on The Ordinary products so I decided to purchase a few products, and The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% was one of them. It was love at first try. The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% has a vibrant blue colour which is the natural colour of the copper peptide, it has a light watery texture, and it absorbs very quickly onto the skin. There’s no added fragrance in the product so it doesn’t have any particular smell.

After using The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% for a few months I could confidently say that I have noticed a difference. My dry skin feels more hydrated and plumped. My skin allergy such as redness and itchiness has been reduced and reoccurred less. Don’t expect instant results or dramatic results like you would with Vitamin A, Vitamin C or any strong direct acids. Copper peptides signals your skin cells to constantly repair and restore your skin back to its optimal level so your skin becomes more robust.

I don’t have any deep wrinkles so I can’t comment on the effectiveness for this concern. As for my blemish concerns, I believe it does boost the healing time and soothe the redness but if acne is your main concern, there are targeted treatment products that would be more effective.

Think of The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% like using aloe vera after sun burn. Do you need to use it? No. But it will definitively soothe and hydrate your burnt skin and speed up recovery.

Like any peptide serum, The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% is not a must have in a skincare routine but if you are serious about your skincare health then this is an important step in building a more robust epidermis. However, if you don’t have the budget then you can go for The Ordinary “Buffet” serum instead. The only difference with the two serum is the added 1% copper peptide, and lighter texture consistency which may absorb better.

If you are on the other end of the spectrum and you want something that’s more powerful, luxurious and you are okay to spend more money than the NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 (CAIS2) is a must have.

Packaging

A dark glass bottle with a dropper applicator.

Price

$48 for a 30ml bottle

Beauty Tip

I would use this right after cleansing for maximum absorption. It is very light weight so you could layer a Vitamin C derivative such as The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside serum or the NIOD Non-Acid Acid Precursor 15% (NAAP) to help even out the skin tone and boost radiance.

If you would like to use other direct acids I would recommend using them on alternative routines to avoid any possible conflicts.

Overall Rating 4.5 Stars

I think it is a great peptide serum and it is well worth the price, and I will definitely repurchase.
