Why should you purchase an Dyson Supersonic hair dryer?

Does it really dry your hair faster? Yes, but only slightly so if this is the reason why you are spending $549 on this hair dryer then I’ll advise you to save your money.

Before I got my very own Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, I had always dislike washing my hair because it was a tedious job to dry my hair with my old conventional hair dryer.

What is the difference?

Weight

For me the first thing I notice was the weight, when I was using my old hair dryer to dry my long hair it always strains my wrist. I’m not sure whether it was because conventional hair dryer has the motor on the top so when you are blow drying it feels heavier and takes more effort or that the Dyson hair dryer was actually lighter. Ever since I’ve used the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer I haven’t strain my wrist.

 Design/Physical Look

Let’s be honest, no other hair dryer can compete with the beauty of the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Just like the design of their Dyson bladeless fans, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has a futuristic look with no blades or motor on the top with beautiful bright colour contrast with a dark grey matt finish. Along with this, the Dyson Supersonic comes with 4 easy to put on magnetic attachments (Smoothing nozzle, Gentle air, Styling Concentrator and Diffuser), so I think it is safe to say Dyson is a clear winner in this category.

Sound

Dyson Supersonic is a gentle monster. I get annoyed with the noise level my old conventional hair dryer made while drying my hair which is one of the reason why I use to hate washing and then blowing drying my hair.

The Dyson Supersonic makes a much gentler sound without compromising on power and even the sound to turn on and off is easy on the ear.

My Verdict

I would absolutely recommend the Dyson hairdryer for anyone who wants a bit of added luxury to their regular blow drying experience. My first experience with using the Dyson hairdryer was in Hilton hotel at Tokyo Disneyland, it was provided as a standard hairdryer for staying guest. I have to be honest, it was love at first use and I couldn’t go back to using my conventional hairdryer so one of the first things I did when I got home was buy the Dyson hairdryer. I was lucky enough to score a discount during the end of financial year sale so I only paid $399 with an added bonus Dyson stand for the hair dryer.

I understand $549 is very expensive for a hair dryer and it isn’t for everybody, but it is something you use regularly and it will last a long time.

Overall Rating 4 Stars

I would repurchase the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer in a heartbeat, even on full price. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the price point.
